ANCIENT OLYMPIA

Weather conditions in the Peloponnese

In general, the climate of the Peloponnese Mediterranean . In the western part of the peninsula , and especially on the coasts and in the coastal areas dominated by a maritime climate of the Mediterranean type . In the central part of the Peloponnese , in the mountains , the climate is quite cold with frost and snow in winter , while in the west of precipitation falls as rain and the region is famous for warm summers.

In the eastern part of the peninsula is dominated by Mediterranean climate with occasional rains and poor vegetation . The average air temperature in the Peloponnese is between 20 - 21.5 C.
